Matthew David was born in San Diego, California and now resides in New York City. His love for fashion was ever present, but really took off after high school when he moved back to San Diego in early 2008. Matthew was employed by Leonard Simpson Fashion Forward in 2008 and 2009. He met Mr. Simpson after a referral by celebrity hair artist Joseph Anthony, for whom Matthew worked as a hair model. Recognizing his potential, Mr. Anthony introduced the two men in March of 2008. Matthew immediately began appearing as a model on KUSI and in fashion shows, and in June Mr. Simpson offered Matthew an internship to learn the business.
Matthew proved so adept and so indispensable that in June of 2008 , Mr. Simpson hired Matthew on as his personal assistant. This meant Matthew was now charged with keeping order in Mr. Simpson's busy life and whatever that entailed, from making and printing line ups and tags for a fashion show to finding 8 greyhounds to strut the runway with male models in one segment of the show. At every turn, Matthew was an unqualified success. No matter how outrageous or demanding the request Matthew always came through. After leaving San Diego, he then moved to Jacksonville, Florida and worked for Jacksonville Fashion Week as Runway and Talent Coordinator. This left Matthew in charge of all model casting calls as well as being the wardrobe stylist for all JFW 2012 collateral images both in print and publications.
Matthew has also had the opportunity to have styled photo shoots both for agency approved model test and editorials in North Florida. Having now relocated to Manhattan, New York, Matthew now looks forward to his next chapter working in the city as a Mother Agent and scout placing models globally.
